Tonight is one of those nights where I'm reminded about the goodness of life. Good friends and theMILL will usually do that for me. Old and broken things in my life, friendships, relationships, personal views and habits, have been made new! and I am so grateful.
One thing you may or may not know about me is that I like to skip the superficial and go deep. Tell me about your life and where you're at and what you're struggling with. I thrive on that. I love listening, and I love to be listened to when needed. Basically I love knowing people really well and showing that to them. But I've learned to tread lightly, because not everyone is like that and sometimes I end up drained for pushing things along when they would probably never move forward otherwise. I'm getting better at judging where people are at with that, which has helped a lot. And I've been blessed with people in my life who are comfortable with deep conversations.
I'm so thankful. For beautiful women I've met at church who consistently pursue me each week. For re-connecting with old friends. For solid messages. For great conversations and great laughs. For a community!
God is good. Life is good, even though I may forget it sometimes.

Day 6: From a Low Angle
In honor of Thanksgiving, which is practically around the corner...I found this cute turkey tealight holder and set it atop a gourd we got from the pumpkin farm. :)
Today is a strange day. It's my day off, and I'm going stir crazy. Yet I'm keeping myself from desperately texting friends to see if they can hang out. Why? Because I think I need to learn how to enjoy doing nothing again. I love being around people, but I love my solitude as well. For awhile I've felt an unspoken pressure to always be hanging out with someone or doing something. Don't get me wrong, it makes for great times, but now is my time to rest and refuel. So far I'm not enjoying it too much, but I'm working on it. Rest is always good.

Day 5: From a High Angle
Man. I am dragging today. This cold has stuffed my head with cotton balls and left me feeling run down. Dayquil can only do so much I guess. I just hope work goes by fast tonight!
I like this challenge because it gets me thinking in pictures. When I go places I'm thinking of my picture of the day and what would be a best fit. I wish I had more time today, but I was able to take a nice walk to the park to scope out some high angles.
I always loved this thing as a kid. Back when I could sit on it and spiral my way down to the bottom. Oh, the things that we used to entertain ourselves with. Good times. Now it's off to work!

Day 4: Something Green
Today I met some good friends for happy hour at Conor O'Neills in Boulder. If you have never been, happy hour is a great time to go to get to know the place. It's a fun Irish pub that has good food and live music after nine. We all agreed that it looked very different in the daytime...haha...
For my "something green" I thought I'd take a picture of the signs above the small bar in the room that we were in. The walls were also a greenish-yellow, so it added a nice touch. Bit of a glare, but oh well. Despite being sick, it was SO good to hang out with friends and enjoy each other's company. Great day.
Afterthought: Life is messy. Yet life is beautiful. At times things make seemingly perfect sense, and at other times don't make any sense at all. But it all works out in time. Looking back and being able to see even a glimpse of what was at work is a blessing. Right now, I feel like my life isn't making a whole lot of sense. But I'm enjoying the ride for now.

Day 3: Clouds
"Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky."
-Rabindranath Tagore
I love clouds. I was one of those kids who was obsessed with clouds so much that I painted my room sky blue and got everything with clouds on it. Unfortunately, now that I've moved back into my parents' house for the time being, the childhood decor doesn't do much for my image as a responsible adult. And who has time to re-decorate? I don't even think I've completely unpacked from moving home in July. Ah, well...one thing at a time. Preferably other things first. :)
There were not many clouds in the sky today...but I managed to find some wisps at the lake. And it was chilly! Glad to be back home in the heat and eating dinner at a normal hour. Hope you all are staying warm!

Day 2: What I Wore Today
"There is much to support the view that it is clothes that wear us, and not we, them; we may make them take the mould of arm or breast, but they mould our hearts, our brains, our tongues to their liking."
-Virginia Woolf
Snow! again. All I wanted to do today was curl up into a blanket and watch movies...but alas, I had to work. Hence my ever-fashionable work outfit pictured above. And of course, I have to include my jacket and scarf, right? Technically two pictures...but oh well.
Anyways. Currently it is 10:13pm and I'm eating spaghetti and meatballs. I've gotten in the habit of eating dinner when I get home from work...I haven't decided if this is a good thing or not. But either way, now it is time for bed. Till tomorrow!

Photo Challenge! Day 1: Self-Portrait
It's finally happening. Nov 1st. Day One.
My take on a self-portrait. I got the idea from browsing various photographs online, and I like the idea of a picture within a picture. I found my parents' nifty little point and shoot and this is the result. It looked better in black and white. Let the fun begin!
